ブラッドリーさん、告白しなきゃいけないことがあるよ。
I have to make a confession.となるところを慣用表現でこう言う。
Confession?
告白だって？
Yes, I ...ran away last night ... from school.
そうなの、私昨晩逃げ出したの、…学校から。
Oh, what was the matter? Trouble with teh teacher?
へえ、何があったんだい？先生に叱られでもしたのかな？
No, nothing like that.
いいえ、そんなんじゃないの。
Well, you don't just run away from school for nothing.
でも、学校から逃げ出すには何か理由があるだろう。
Well, it was only meant to be for an hour or two.
（学校から逃げ出すのは）ほんの１，２時間のつもりだったのよ。

あなたにはくだらないことのように見えるでしょう。
does it? は付加疑問。前の文が肯定形なら否定形。前が否定形なら肯定形になる。
相手の気持ちや意志を確認するときによく使われる。ときに皮肉を含むこともある。

すごいよ。どうだい、それらを全部やってみないかい、一緒に。
But don't you have to work?
でもお仕事があるんじゃないの？
Work? No! Today's gonna be a holiday.
仕事？やめなよ。今日は１日休暇にする。
